Rubani 1, 2 & 3
Building on the successful pilot boat designs delivered to the Australian market, a fleet of 3 sisterships were the first international pilot boats for Southerly Designs. Partnering with SECO in Kenya for the first time, these boats were delivered to Tanzania Port Authority. They were constructed with a steel hull and aluminium wheelhouse and feature a twin skeg design. The vessels have live aboard accommodation for three crew below deck and seating for 12 personnel in the wheelhouse. Functionality was considered in the design of these pilot boats with the engine hatches being external to the wheelhouse, ensuring optimum engine accessibility.
