Len Hooper & Russell A. Wilson: Patrol Vessels
Launched on the 3rd of June 1998 in Geraldton, Western Australia, Russell A. Wilson and sistership Len Hooper are 16 metre Police patrol vessels designed and built for Queensland Police. The vessels operate between Hinchinbrook and Cape Grenville, a coastline stretching more than 800km.
A pair of 6-cylinder turbocharged Detroit diesels drive fixed pitch propellers and can push these vessels along at a top speed of 25 knots, and allow comfortable cruising at 18 knots. With 4,850 litres of fuel on board the range at sprint speed is 650 nautical miles.
