Delron: Charter Vessel
Built by Western Boat Builders and launched in 1994, the 8.5 metre Delron started life as a patrol boat for the Western Australia Police and was powered by a single 200 horsepower outboard. Since then she has seen many physical and operational changes, the first being the addition of a flybridge and sponsons when Geraldton Sea Search and Rescue purhcased her from the W.A Police. The single outboard was also replaced with twin Yamaha 225 horsepower outboards.
After many years of service as a search and rescue vessel Delron was sold, the flybridge was removed, and the outboards were updated to twin 300 horsepower Suzuki outboards. Now operating as fishing charter vessel out of Geraldton, Western Australia, Delron can achieve a top speed in excess of 40knots.
