Holdfast: Lobster Fishing Vessel
With an identical hull to Daydawn, the new 23.95m lobster fishing vessel for Tebco Fishing of Port Denison turned heads when she was launched in early 2018. Having an overall length of 25.95m, Holdfast is 0.45m longer than Daydawn, making it the largest cray fishing vessel in Australia when it was launched. And it’s not only the overall size of the vessel that has increased. Live capacity will be an impressive 208 baskets (in excess of 6t) of live crayfish.
The vessel was a combined build between Dongara Marine & Niche Marine, with a composite wheelhouse and aluminium hull, as seen on the recent pilot boats and Daydawn. The wheelhouse has been extended aft to provide better protection when working at the pot hauler, tipper and main cray tanks, which has also increased the size of the flybridge.
